The panelists at the Mind the Tech NY Conference highlighted the importance for founders to focus on sustainable growth rather than growth at any cost. Whitney Bouck, Managing Director at Insight Partners, emphasized the need for thoughtful investments in areas that provide growth. She mentioned that Insight Partners is in a position to help companies navigate challenging times and emerge successfully.

The discussion also touched on the current economic climate and its impact on raising funds. Barak Platt, a leading partner in M&A and High-tech at Yigal Arnon-Tadmor Levy, noted that it has become harder to raise money and that valuations are not as high as they used to be. As a result, many companies are voluntarily looking to be sold. Platt emphasized the importance for companies seeking acquisition to plan ahead and collaborate with stakeholders to develop a roadmap for the process.

Yaron Elad, CEO of Elron Ventures, mentioned that Series A rounds are currently facing the most challenges in terms of funding. Pavel Livshiz, General Partner at Hetz Ventures, stated that funding levels have regressed to pre-pandemic levels, and founders are being advised to achieve more with the same or even less capital.

Salvatore A Melilli, Partner at KPMG, discussed the state of the IPO market, noting that it has slowed down compared to 2021. Investors are now more interested in seeing the road to profitability before investing.
