Tabnine, an AI-powered assistant for software developers, has closed a $15.5 million funding round co-led by Qualcomm Ventures, OurCrowd, and Samsung NEXT Ventures. The funding will be used to enhance the developer experience, add new capabilities, and strengthen Tabnine's enterprise offering. Tabnine employs AI to provide code autocompletion and suggestions, leveraging algorithms trained to understand the semantic models of code.
The platform currently has more than a dozen models for popular programming languages and boasts over a million developers using its technology. Tabnine faces competition from platforms like GitHub's Copilot, Ponicode, and DeepCode.
