Prompt Security
The singular security platform for GenAI protection
Acquired by SentinalOne

Prompt Security built the runtime security layer for generative and agentic AI inside the enterprise. As organizations adopted ChatGPT, code assistants, browser-based copilots, and internally built GenAI applications at a pace that outran every existing security control, a new category of risk opened up underneath them: employees pasting sensitive data into third-party models, AI-native attack vectors like prompt injection and toxic prompts, and agentic systems acting on behalf of the business without meaningful guardrails. Prompt's platform sat at every point of interaction between GenAI tools and the organization, analyzing prompts and responses in real time to detect exposure of sensitive data, block harmful content, and defend against AI-specific attack vectors. That end-to-end coverage across employee-facing tools and internally developed AI-enhanced applications is what made Prompt one of the earliest and most credible answers to what quickly became one of the fastest-growing and least regulated frontiers in enterprise security.

The company was founded in August 2023 by Itamar Golan (CEO) and Lior Drihem (CTO), both graduates of Israel's elite 8200 Unit. Itamar previously founded the AI divisions at Check Point and Orca Security. Lior served as Director of Innovation at Check Point before joining Orca Security alongside Itamar. Their pedigree in AI and cybersecurity, combined with an unusually sharp read on where the category was heading, let Prompt move from seed to category leader in under two years.

In August 2025, SentinelOne announced its acquisition of Prompt Security for an estimated $250 million, extending the NYSE-listed cybersecurity platform into GenAI and agentic AI security. The deal was one of the first defining M&A moments in the category, alongside Palo Alto Networks' acquisition of Protect AI, Cisco's acquisition of Robust Intelligence, and Tenable's acquisition of Apex, and came just two years after Prompt was founded.
